How do I change the re-verification period?

We hold on to your user's verification status for between 90 days and 1 year, depending on the plan you purchase, as a default. Once a verification ages out of this period your user must go through verification again to complete transactions protected by Token of Trust.

This period is controlled by setting your Data Retention Policy. This policy is shared with users when they start the verification process. Changing it can have ramifications for compliance, but most importantly, we have to inform users what is going to happen to their data when they get verified using Token of Trust.

If you want to change your data retention policy we will ask you to provide the legal basis for your request. This is so that we can explain why WE are holding on to user information longer than usual.

Changing your data retention policy

You can update your default data retention policy by:

  1. Logging into your HQ account and navigating to https://app.tokenoftrust.com/hq/org/settings
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Edit"
  3. Follow the Instructions in the "Identity Data Storage" or "Data Storage" section.
  4. It will ask you to set the period you want to store data for and then ask you to provide the reason ("legal basis") why you want us to store this data for this period.
  5. Once complete, click Save at the bottom of the page.

How do you setup identity or age verification so that only certain locations need to get verified?

Answer: Use Location-Based Identity Verification. This is enabled via the locationRestrictions.requiresVerification attribute in your application configuration to define which countries and regions require verification. Summary Token of Trust now supports location-based verification requirements through the locationRestrictions configuration. This feature allows you to specify which geographic locations (countries and regions)
