Additional Nicotine Pouch Attributes: hasTobacco, pouchesPerCountainer, modifiedRisk

We have added 3 new attributes to nicotine pouch products in our system, in order to better support newer pouch rules that are being implemented by states.

hasTobacco: This attribute signifies if the pouch product has tobacco in it or is derived from tobacco (compared against a synthetic nicotine pouch). A few states are starting to tax these differently, such as Wyoming.

modifiedRisk: This attribute signifies if the product is designated as a "Modified Risk Tobacco Product" per the United States Food & Drug Administration. Basically this means that they approve certain products as a lesser risk, and as such the FDA says that states could if they want tax these products less. An example of this is Colorado, which taxes modified risk products at half of what they charge unapproved products. To see the list of approved products, visit: https://www.fda.gov/tobacco-products/advertising-and-promotion/modified-risk-tobacco-products . Currently the list is very small, but we expect it to grow in the future, especially with Zyn currently pending approval.

pouchesPerContainer: This attribute signifies how many individual nicotine pouches are in a container. North Carolina has a good definition here and defines the word "container" as the following: the smallest individual package of ANP (Alternative Nicotine Product) that has the FDA labeling required for sale. What im trying to get at here is that container has nothing to do with pack logic, it is just for the individual typically circle containers.

Currently in order to support existing products in HQ, these 3 new fields are optional, which means that they do not have to be set on existing products if not needed. They can however be set either via the bulk uploader, or via the HQ UI. The bulk uploader now REQUIRES that these three fields are present on nicotine pouch type products.

How do you setup identity or age verification so that only certain locations need to get verified?

Answer: Use Location-Based Identity Verification. This is enabled via the locationRestrictions.requiresVerification attribute in your application configuration to define which countries and regions require verification. Summary Token of Trust now supports location-based verification requirements through the locationRestrictions configuration. This feature allows you to specify which geographic locations (countries and regions)
